Meet

Rachel May

Rachel has an outstanding twenty-year track record as an Executive Coach to leaders and managers in organisations including Hitachi, Sony, Airbus, the NHS, and Ford. As a former Head of Leadership Development in two large organisations, she has a very strong practical grasp of the challenges leaders face. She has particular specialisms in coaching leaders leading complex organisational change, senior role transition, and the leadership of culture change. She also works as an organisation development consultant and team coach to the senior team, focusing on culture shift and performance improvement.

Coaching Style and Expertise

Rachel has a distinctive ‘wide angle lens’ on coaching, working systemically to enable leaders to consider their personal effectiveness in the context of team and organisational culture, relationships with key stakeholders and customers, and building communities of interest across sectors and businesses. Rachel’s coaching is influenced by beliefs around the value of clear focus, political and ethical awareness, and the need for practical impact on organisational performance. Her style is pragmatic, fun, and challenging, underpinned by strong support and empathy; she encourages clients to face the challenges that make a difference. Learning is at the heart of everything she does.
