Team Coaching - ILM Endorsed Outline
Team coaching has become much more commonplace in organisations seeking to maximise the effectiveness of teams and improve organisational performance. The proposition of the team coach having to be an external expert facilitator is being rapidly supplemented by the notion that a competent internal coach can offer much in the way of helping teams improve their focus, develop an understanding and appreciation of colleagues and team processes, and to help create energetic and higher performing teams.
This four-day programme (2+1+1) is designed to give a basic yet thorough grounding in the skills and practice of coaching teams within organisations.

Who should attend the ILM Endorsed Team Coaching Programme?
We recommend that attendees have an ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring (or equivalent) and have been coaching on a 1 to 1 basis for the last two years. Typically attendees are:
- Individuals who coach individuals and teams at senior level in-house
- Senior L&D managers/partners and/or organisational coaching champions who are required to undertake in-house coaching supervision as part of their role
What do I need to do and how long does it take?
Typically, attendees are baired up into 'buddies' for the programme, and undertake Team Coaching and supervision together. All evidence and reflections supplied as part of the formal qualification must be each person's own work.
To gain the qualification, you will need to compile a portfolio of evidence throughout the programme, which consists of:
- Records of a minimum of 4 Team Coaching sessions
- Records and reflection on supervisions with a coaching 'buddy' on the programme too
- A review of Team Coaching undertaken and personal learning
Throughout the workshops, you will have direct access to your tutor and our support team, along with four 1 to 1 calls with your tutor/s, at the pre, mid x2 and post-programme stages. Each attendee also gets access to our library of online resources, which includes coaching videos, blogs, templates and self-assessments.
The journey from the start of the programme, through to completing the qualification, usually takes between 6 and 9 months.
