WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?

Our ILM Level 3, 5, and 7 programmes in Coaching and Mentoring require our delegates to practice Coaching over the course of their journeys.

Whilst many focus on internal  Coachees/Mentees, we recommend having external Coachees and Mentees for this practice - which is where you come in!

What would I need to do?

Typically, a relationship would last for 6 sessions (between 30 mins and 1-hour per session) over the course of a 6-9 month period.

Throughout this time, you would have 4 key stages:

Chemistry - Where you meet with your potential Coach/Mentor to see if you would get on, get to know each other, and see if you think you would be able to work together.

Contracting - This will be lead by your Coach/Mentor, but the idea is to set the ground rules around your relationship, understand what you want to achieve and how.

Coaching/Mentoring Sessions - You will then undertake between 4-6 sessions with your Coach or Mentor, typically 1 a month

Review - You will have a post review with your Coach/Mentor, and possibly a mid-review as well, to ensure you are working well together, and that the relationship is beneficial.

At the moment, this is all virtual, but may be face-to-face as and when that would be appropriate.

Does this cost anything?

No - our practice Coaches and Mentors should not charge you for their services or any expenses accrued. This is a quid-pro-quo relationship, where they provide a free service, which hopefully will be beneficial to you, and they get the practice and feedback from you - this feedback would be after each session, either verbally, or in the form of completing a feedback sheet.

SIGN ME UP!

If you're interested, we'd connect you with a coach or mentor in training, with the view of working together. There would be no commitment needed until the contracting phase (outlined above), so if you decide not to go ahead at the chemistry phase, then it's not a problem.
